Heritage Meets Runway: Xiaohehe’s ‘Created with Love for AI’ Charity Show Closes 2026 China Fashion Week Fairy Tale Town with a Full House

The 2026 China Fashion Week officially kicked off its “Fairy Tale Town” segment on July 22 at the 798 Art District’s No.1 Workshop in Beijing. Among the week’s highlights, the original parent-child children’s wear brand Xiaohehe (Little Crane) presented a high-profile charity-themed runway show, “Created with Love for AI,” on July 24.

The event brought together industry leaders, public welfare representatives, sports and entertainment figures, and young students, weaving together three core elements — trendy children’s fashion, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) aesthetics, and public welfare art education —into a showcase that balanced traditional Chinese cultural texture with contemporary humanistic warmth.

Craftsmanship and Heritage Revival

Inspired by the elegance of the red-crowned crane, Xiaohehe has long positioned itself around safety, comfort, health, and nature in children’s wear design. Beyond creating well-fitted clothing, the brand aims to immerse children in traditional Chinese aesthetics and foster cultural confidence from an early age.

This season’s collection introduced a new “Lively Polka Dot” series, featuring soft color-blocking and relaxed silhouettes suited for children’s daily activities. The brand also integrated ICH elements into its classic designs, incorporating horsetail embroidery and handcrafted frog buttons — techniques passed down by national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor Guo Xin. The fusion of traditional craftsmanship with playful children’s design brought heritage crafts into everyday children’s wear.

Commitment to Public Welfare and Art Education

The show opened with a sign-language dance performance of “My Motherland and Me” by students from Beijing Kaiyin Experimental School, providing a platform for children with special needs. The event coincided with the National Security Industry Awareness Day, and frontline security personnel from the Beijing Zhenyuan Guard Team were invited as special guests to honor their service on the front lines.

The second edition of the “Warm Clothes, Building Dreams with Love” Charity Art Study Camp was officially launched during the event. Co-organized by the Xiaohehe Public Welfare Fund and the Children’s Life Aesthetics Practice Center of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, the camp received support from multiple organizations including the Fashion Week Organizing Committee, CMG Media Group, Beijing Xicheng Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Dongcheng Children’s Palace, Aha Entertainment, Dadao Culture, and Beijing Runyuan. The five-day program offered art education activities to outstanding students from partner schools in underprivileged areas.

Xie Fangming, full-time vice chairman of the China Fashion Association, and Lin Lan, founder of the Xiaohehe Public Welfare Fund, jointly inaugurated the camp. Representatives from the camp, along with the Xiaohehe Art Troupe, performed a poetry recitation titled “Reading Beijing,” expressing their love for the capital’s culture through young voices.

The children’s program hosts Ma Shu and Qi Zai from the Fan Family joined performers from the Xiaohehe Charity Art Troupe for an energetic opening act. The runway segment was then led by robots developed by City Between Technology — marking the first time robots have walked the runway as models at China International Fashion Week. The show blended contemporary children’s fashion with ICH-inspired designs, as Lin Lan used apparel design as a medium to integrate AI innovation, traditional Chinese aesthetics, and public welfare, projecting cultural confidence through children’s wear.

Cultivating Through Beauty, Building Dreams With Love

This runway presentation not only showcased the brand’s original design capabilities and its efforts to revitalize intangible cultural heritage, but also served as a demonstration of social responsibility by a homegrown Chinese brand. Looking ahead, Xiaohehe said it will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese-style children’s wear market, regularly organizing charity study camps and educational support programs, using fashion as a bridge to nurture and protect the next generation while spreading warmth and compassion.
